I enjoyed seeing a few of the blogger crowd at Krewe Du Vieux and now I get my chance. Candice and I got invited to ride in Pygmalion today.
I've been running around trying to get everything sorted out for Friday.
That's more that 50 gross of beads. I hope I won't run out before the end.
All those beads ain't cheap! $450 for cheap plastic Chinese shit I'm going to throw away to complete strangers. Ah well, that's how these things run.
Could be an entry into the truck parades...
I'll be on Float 16 towards the back on the neutral ground side. Let me know where you like to set up and I'll look for you and bombard you with beads.
Oh yeah, did I mention my 24th birthday is also on Mardi Gras day? It's going to be a hectic couple of weeks.

2 Great Restaurants and 2 that need to close
J'anita's
Near the Magazine Split
Run by a fellow blogger, J'anita's kicks ass. I had their fish sandwich there and I inhaled it. Great potato salad. The baked beans are really smoky, which I don't really care for, but other will love.
Blue Plate
1330 Prytania.
The Blue Plate is located very close to my office and when I need to get something more than a plate lunch, it's my first choice. My favorites are the Fat Cat (stuffed catfish) and Ribeye. Their garlic potatoes are incredibly addictive.
Eat NOLA
French Quarter right next to David Vitter's love shack
Pretentious without substance. Small portions. Horrible gumbo. I've got a friend who works as a chef downtown and he says unprintably nasty things about the place. Avoid.
Cafe Atchafalaya
901 Louisiana
This review is a bit cruel. I loved Cafe Atchafalaya the last time I went and I've always been meaning to go back, I just was never in the neighborhood. Went back recently and the place was ruined. They remodeled, got expensive, and now seem to care more about the presentation of the food than the ingredients. They wasted all the remoulade sauce on the plate with almost none on the fried green tomatoes. The crab cakes didn't have enough bread crumbs. Worst of all, there were no collared greens on the menu. I'm now left with only Praline Connection for my collared greens-fix. Not a bad restaurant; it just used to be a lot better.

Ode to Iowa
I've taken a long blogging hiatus, but I hope to have a few posts up soon. Here's something to entertain yourselves with in the meantime:
