Dumbo Octopus
The Dumbo Octopus, captured by
NOAA's Okeanos mission in the Gulf of Mexico
. Towards the end, it also makes its arms into corkscrews. Why? We have absolutely no idea because, before a month ago, nobody had ever seen them do that. They also studied
Asphalt Volcanoes
and
Chemosynthetic Bacteria
feeding on seeps on the same mission.
Octopi are pretty smart. This one unscrews the lid of the jar from the inside to escape:
