I was cleaning out the family home and found something interesting from the early 90's: This was distributed Uptown during the whole Dorothy Mae Taylor episode. Here's a little background on the whole affair.
I always find stuff like that in our "old family home". Last year I was cleaning out a box and found a check from Schwegmann's dated 1979. I keep it hanging on my bulletin board with the other relics I've found.
Have you read James Gill's Lord's of Misrule? Does and excellent job of tracing the long racist, patrician history of the old-line krewes while framing it withing the context of the fight over Taylor's anti-discrimination ordinance. Good stuff there.

Also.. regarding relics.. I've got a bottle of K&B vodka laying around in a box somewhere...along with my New Orleans Jazz pennant.
