fellow blogger, J'anita's kicks ass. I had their fish sandwich there and I inhaled it. Great potato salad. The baked beans are really smoky, which I don't really care for, but other will love.
Blue Plate1330 Prytania. The Blue Plate is located very close to my office and when I need to get something more than a plate lunch, it's my first choice. My favorites are the Fat Cat (stuffed catfish) and Ribeye. Their garlic potatoes are incredibly addictive.
Eat NOLAFrench Quarter right next to David Vitter's love shackPretentious without substance. Small portions. Horrible gumbo. I've got a friend who works as a chef downtown and he says unprintably nasty things about the place. Avoid.
Cafe Atchafalaya901 LouisianaThis review is a bit cruel. I loved Cafe Atchafalaya the last time I went and I've always been meaning to go back, I just was never in the neighborhood. Went back recently and the place was ruined. They remodeled, got expensive, and now seem to care more about the presentation of the food than the ingredients. They wasted all the remoulade sauce on the plate with almost none on the fried green tomatoes. The crab cakes didn't have enough bread crumbs. Worst of all, there were no collared greens on the menu. I'm now left with only Praline Connection for my collared greens-fix. Not a bad restaurant; it just used to be a lot better.
